Home Nursing in Fairford and Lechlade communities
We are a Home Nursing service available to patients of Fairford and Lechlade GP Surgeries. Our team of registered nurses and healthcare assistants support end-of-life patients that wish to remain at home. Working alongside the patient’s GP and the District Nurses, they care for the patient and support their families.
Patients can be referred to us through the District Nurse, who will contact our Nursing Managers Emma Kennedy and Jan Killingback. Together they will make all the necessary arrangements.
Our wonderful team are often local people themselves and are familiar to many in the community. The care they provide brings them close to people at a very difficult time and their kindness is always appreciated by our patients and their loved ones.
The nursing service is provided to patients at no cost to themselves or their families and is funded by the charity through donations and our fundraising events.
You can get in touch with our Nursing Team by calling 07938 244335 or by email
The District Nurse contacts our Nursing Co-ordinator who makes all the necessary arrangements.
The Friends in the Community Home Nursing Team service is registered by the Care Quality Commission (Provider ID 1-101657482 listed at 2nd Floor, 11 High Street, Fairford) and is licensed to provide services.
The current overall rating received from the CQC is “Good”.

TESTIMONIALS
We frequently receive letters from family members in appreciation of the excellent care given by the Home Nursing Team and below are examples recently sent to the charity.
“Would you please pass on my thanks to the The Friends of Fairford and Lechlade Communities for the care provided to my father before his death. He needed help suddenly and the Charity provided that help, at short notice and free of charge, until a more permanent solution could be arranged. Without the visits of your care assistant he could not have stayed in his own home”
“It was like having family come to our house rather than strangers. They always checked my wellbeing too before they went to care for my mum, which was so valuable and appreciated. They were just amazing; they couldn’t possibly have done any more.”
